Confidence Begins Here

Sometimes we can take on the world and other times we hide in the corner sucking our thumb.  Well, maybe that’s just me.  The difference?  Confidence.  What is it?  Where does it come from?  Can we create or build it?  Here’s how those who experience purpose answer those questions.

This is a subject that comes up at our QC Mastermind.  When attendees find out they are going to be required to do an 8 minute presentation on the last day, fear strikes the heart of the majority.  “I’ve never spoken before”, “I’m not good at it”, “Do I have to?”... all statements and questions we hear.  Fast forward 7 weeks and they step up to the platform like a superhero in a cape.  What makes the difference?  You already know… confidence.
I like to define confidence by breaking down the etymology of the word itself.  Basically it’s the mixture of two latin words, con + fidelis.  Con= with (think con queso… like with cheese).  Fidelis= faith or trustworthy.  So really the word confidence can be simply described as “with trust”.  Which then means if we say self-confidence, we mean trust in self.  If we have no confidence, then we don’t trust ourselves.  Make sense?

What happens in that 7 week span is not just a magical event and suddenly the participant is confident in their presentation.  They learn the mindset of faith and beliefs and how to structure them.  They also learn that when we couple that mindset to the mechanics of behavior or systems, viola!  They suddenly trust the process and confidence is born!

Take a look at this diagram.  You’ll notice that confidence is the third stage in the Experience of Purpose.

Frankly, level three here is where the rubber meets the road.  And the more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes.

Let us know your thoughts… I would love to hear from you.

Daily Dose - Regain Control, One Small Step at a Time

Today's dose is a practical question for immediate impact: "What small, consistent actions could you implement to create a sense of greater control in your day?" Feeling overwhelmed or like your days are running you? You're not alone. The solution isn't some grand overhaul, but rather a series of small, consistent actions that gradually shift the balance of power. Consider: Morning Ritual: Starting your day with a focused routine (meditation, journaling, planning) can set the tone for control. Time Blocking: Scheduling specific tasks in your calendar prevents reactive chaos. Daily Prioritization: Identifying your top 3 most important tasks ensures you're focusing on what truly matters. Mindful Breaks: Taking short, intentional breaks throughout the day helps maintain focus and prevent burnout. These small actions, when implemented consistently, compound into a powerful sense of control and clarity. To your Momentum & Mastery, Spencer Photo by Alex...

Daily Dose - The Inevitable Circle Shift

Today's dose addresses a truth often overlooked: "With every rise in your standards, you can expect a proportional replacement of your inner circle." As you grow, evolve, and elevate your expectations for yourself, your environment will naturally adapt. This includes the people you surround yourself with. This isn't about being judgmental or cutting people out. It's about: Alignment: Your inner circle should reflect your current values and aspirations. Growth: You need to surround yourself with people who challenge and inspire you. Energy: Toxic relationships drain your energy, while supportive ones fuel your progress. As you raise your standards, some relationships may naturally fade, while others will strengthen, and new ones will emerge. Embrace this natural evolution. It's a sign of your growth. Daily Dose - Accountability: Reclaim Your Power Source

"Accountability is something you do FOR yourself, not TO yourself. It's the key to taking back your power." We often perceive accountability as a restrictive force, a set of rules imposed upon us. But in reality, it's the very tool that unlocks our potential. When you hold yourself accountable, you: Reclaim control: You stop being a victim of circumstance and become the architect of your destiny. Build self-trust: Consistently honoring your commitments strengthens your belief in your own capabilities. Accelerate progress: Clear goals and consistent action propel you towards your desired outcomes. Accountability isn't about punishment; it's about empowerment. It's about taking ownership and stepping into your full potential.
